Closing in...

We are closing in 12 days! It's like the 12 days of Christmas over here. I hope the bank gets all their last minute crap done and on time.

Here are some mudroom inspiration pics:

Updated paint colors

Ok- so we basically have the colors chosen for our house (except for the basement and our bedroom). I tried to inclue the swatch with the color and a room from google images to show what it looks like. Enjoy!

Nursery Idea Board

Nothing is set in stone yet except for existing items. But this is our idea for nursery.

Playroom ideas

This is going to be the playroom:
Eek! We removed the carpet, pad and particle board (yeah, i know) underneath and fixed the leaky roof. Once we close on the house we are going to work on ceiling. Here are a few inspiration pics for the room:
Paint birch tree silhouettes on walls. Similar to this decal.

Add cute woodland animals here and there.

Love this wall of books and the ledge shelving idea!

I love the doll house book shelf and storage cube wall!
This was my original inspiration but when we looked at the color swatches in person it was way too bright and contrasting for us. Going with more muted walls and adding color in with everything else.

Front door

We have decided on a navy blue door. Since the house is white (dirty white) we like the contrast with the navy and we are going to get an anchor door knocker. Here are some images I found to get the feeling.

Little bean is getting so big!

Our daughter turns 6 months on Monday! Time really does go fast. She love her veggies.

INSPECTION!

Today we had our inspection from Healthy Homes Inspection. I met Paul (the inspector) at 9am and went all though the inside and outside of the house with him.  He mentioned a few minor things that we already knew about and some other new things to consider. Nothing major which is wonderful news! We get our report tomorrow and our Radon reading on Friday. I'm not worried about it. Next step is to get all financial junk in order with our mortgage consultant. I can't wait to paint and clean that place!

First Tour

Entrance way. I'm not a fan of the tiles "path" but it does help with dirty foot traffic. Left- Small LR, Right- Foyer/Mudroom. Will be removing hideous carpet and stenciling. Painting as well!

Small Living Room. Removing bookcase left from previous owner. This room is much smaller than our LR now so we may need some new furniture.

Another view of LR

This side is going to be the first thing you see when you walk in so it's going to be a foyer/mud room type space. Love the bay window!

Stairs go up to 2nd floor.

Smallest doorway I have ever seen!

Another view of the tile "path" going to front door.

Small office behind LR. Paint job needed.

Need to fix closet. I'd like to rip out that closet and give the extra space to the LR.
That's my daughter.

1/2 Bath. Rip out fake tile on walls and paint!

Awesome Kitchen. Ugly paint! We are going to paint cabinets and walls. The floor seems fine so far just needs a cleaning.

Eating nook

Another view of eating nook.  LOVE the big window!
Problem room. Leaky ceiling. Soaked, moldy/moss grown carpeting. I'm not supposed to say this but it's not as big of a problem as we thought. We did a little "digging" around!

Back door to deck.

Ceiling must go.
Main bath. Just needs a new potty, flooring and paint. Oh and the ceiling needs to be fixed. Previous owner left a huge patch (i think it was previously an attic crawl space).

I can't get over the ugliness of this paint and boarder! Baby's future room.

Master BR. Again the boarder is terrible! All carpeting in house will be removed. All walls in house repainted.

I love the fact that we each get a closet of our own!

Hallway from BR to Kitch.
Upstairs. This is a cape cod home so this is a big open floor space. One part will be Guest BR and another part a craft room!

Storage spot!

Leprechauns live here!
Stairs to basement

Washer/Dryer hook up. Love utility sink!

"Rec. room" Bar area. needs a major cleaning.

Family room. LOVE the fireplace. Carpet in Basement is such a dumb idea. We will be removing it!

I love this so much!

Garage. For husband.

Deck

House

Needs better landscaping.
The Pics. say 2008 but it's just defaulted to that. These are from Sept 2011. It needs a makeover and a few repairs but really nothing major. We are very lucky to have found a foreclosure in such great shape! The previous owner lived there right up until he was evicted in July of this year and he didn't have time to do much damage.
